I just finished reading a book called "Shrouded in Silence" by Robert Wise.

This book was amazing! The whole book was about twists and turns! I did not know what would happen on the next page. The ending really threw me for a loop! I am not going to talk about the book too much because I don't want to ruin it!
The book follows Jack & Michelle Townsend on their journey around Rome. They are Biblical scholars on a trek to find the ending to the Gospel of Mark. Through the making of many friends, terrorist plots, and murder attempts the story comes to a dramatic conclusion!
I am anxious to read more of his books if they are anything like this one.

Humphrey
About a month ago we adopted a new dog named Humphrey a.k.a Huey. He is a Yorkie that was saved from a puppy mill. Along the way we have learned some interesting things about him. He would steal anyone's food if he could get his paws on it. He is getting better, but that is one we are still working on. He is also a barker. He would bark at the sheets blowing in the neighbors yard that were out to dry. He would bark at the reflection of the tv in the window. He would bark at any noise that he did not know. I bought him a bark collar, which has worked wonders! He has these pathetic barks now that would not even scare a mouse away. It is a good thing he is not our guard dog! He was never housed trained, so that has been our biggest challenge. We tried the house pads, which he would some times on go on, some times not. We decided to take a rather serious approach, crate training.
He was never crate trained either. The first few days were filled with whining and whimpering. We moved the crate from our bedroom into the living room. Now he will just walk in there any time he wants. At night he still goes into the crate because he also likes to take anything he can get his mouth on and chew it up. We would take him out of the crate to go outside. If he went to the bathroom he would get a treat and time to play outside the crate. If he did not go it was straight back into the crate. We are at the point where there are very few accidents in the house. (Which still is a whole 'nother can of worms!) He is getting to be a fun dog to have around the house, full of antics and adventures.
I decided to buy a black light to figure out where all of the messes were so that I could clean them up. Oh my goodness! The carpet glowed! Our bedroom, living room, and hall way were a mess! I first tried Simple Solution to get the stains and smell out. It worked good on the areas that were newer, but not on the spot where Sammy, our other dog liked to go. I bought a product made by Simple Green that was made for pet messes. I figured if their other products were good, this might be good too. After soaking the carpet, having the window open with the fan blowing out for a few days the smell is pretty much gone. The stain is a lot better, but I figured that would never come out.
It is nice to finally be able to walk around the house in stocking feet and not have to worry about ending up stepping into puddles!!

Something New
So, here I am again, writing a blog about life. While those who need to really know already know . . . this is for fun. Maybe something new will slip out along the way and everyone will get to know me better. Haha, who knows!
